Tyrant Scouting Overview
Collin Bevins has been a force of nature, using his length and strength to dominate his Division II competition to the tune of 26.5 TFL and 15.5 sacks. While that might seem like career stats for a DT, that was just last year. He is Tyrant Scouting's #1 DL prospect for Division II.
Q&A with Collin (CB) by our D2 Scouting Specialist (TW)
TW: Collin, I'd like to feature you today. I'd like to do an informal interview for our writer's blog as well.
CB: Alright cool. What all do you need from me?
TW: What have you been working on this offseason? What can we look forward to seeing better about the already great, Collin Bevins?
CB: I've been putting in a lot of time in the weight room and on the field with the team and people can expect to see big things not only from me but from Northwest as well. We're just trying to better ourselves one day at a time and hopefully come Fall we hit the ground running starting week 1.
TW: Do you plan on taking a shot at the NFL next year, and if that attempt for the NFL doesn't pan out at first, do you think you'll pursue the CFL or even Arena football?
CB: CFL maybe but I don't think I could go the arena football route.
TW: I can understand that.
Is there anyone you've looked up to growing up that may have contributed to your motivation for success?
CB: I really looked up to my Dad. He taught me many things in life but he always reminded me that if I really want something in life I need to put the work in to get that goal accomplished.
TW: I think having a good Dad gives someone a certain amount of good character credibility.
So what drives you, Collin?
CB: What drives me? Hmm I would have to say that knowing there is someone out there better than me drives me the most. Whether it's doing a word search puzzle or rushing the passer. I've always wanted to be the best at whatever it is that I do. So I know I have to put in the time and the work to become the best at what I do.
TW: I think many of the most competitive and successful people have that character trait. Seems like a good sign.
What about when you're not participating in football or studies? What do you enjoy doing with your free time?
CB: I like to be outdoors and hanging out with my friends. I like to hunt in the winter and be around the water in the summertime. You can't beat a day out on a lake with your buddies.
TW: Absolutely. Sounds like nice and mellow times that bring balance from the intensity spent on the gridiron.
I hear you have a successful background in Wrestling. I have to know, any experience or interest in MMA. Your stature and accolades could leave some people wondering, "what if?"
CB: Growing up I was raised around wrestling and wrestling was my go to sport. Football came as a secondary sport to me but once high school hit that quickly changed. I credit a lot of my success on the football field to my wrestling background. I don't have any MMA experience no but I am open to the idea of it.
TW: Well, it's been fun and a pleasure getting to know the man behind the gridiron beast. I appreciate you giving your time, Collin. We at Tyrant Scouting will be following you closely and wish you the best.
CB: I'm glad I could keep it interesting for ya haha. But no problem. Thank you!
TW: You're absolutely welcome. Bye now.
CB: See ya later.
