Tyrant Scouting Overview
Tyler Condit is a highly productive Linebacker from New Haven University. Though slightly limited athletically, he makes up for it with good instincts and a blue collar work mentality. Tyler brings veteran leadership and a tone setting style of play to New Haven's defense. We're expecting big things this upcoming season.
Q&A with Tyler Condit (Condit) and our Division II Specialist (Wyman)
Wyman: Tyler, thanks for agreeing to have a chat with me.
Condit: For sure man.. Thank you for reaching out.
Wyman: Great. So, what's been going on this offseason? What specific kinds of strength and conditioning training have you been putting your body through?
Condit: This offseason I've been up at school working with our strength staff... A typical day starts at 6 am with some kind of speed or conditioning run and is followed by an hour or so in the weight room.. This biggest goal for me was to get faster and stronger this offseason.
Wyman: Sounds like a recipe for tough times for your opponents this Fall.
Now my next question I have to ask all the best of the best D2 players.
Do you plan on going into the NFL?
Condit: Yes, that would be a dream come true.. To finally realize that dream would be something truly special.
Wyman: Tyler, let's say hypothetically, your first attempt to be signed by an NFL team doesn't happen. Do you stay home and train for another attempt down the road or go play professional football in another country like Canada, Germany, or China?
Condit: I wouldn't be opposed to playing overseas... At the end of the day, football is football... I would love to play the game for as long as possible.
Wyman: I think anyone who has seen you play will be glad to hear that.
Who has been the most positive influence in your life growing up?
Condit: Without a doubt my parents.. Their daily sacrifices have put myself and my brother in a great position to succeed. I also credit them to teaching me the value and importance of hard work.
Wyman: I've always believed having good parents as role models is a good remedy for success.
So...what drives, Tyler Condit?
Condit: The chance to prove the people who doubted me wrong on a daily basis really drives me. Nothing drives me more than someone telling me "you can't" or "you won't do this."
Wyman: Proving doubters wrong has always been one of the best known motivators.
On a lighter note, what can people find you doing most when not working for the gridiron or the classroom?
Condit: As cliche as it sounds, I do truly love working out.. I also enjoy catching up with friends.
Wyman: I don't think that's cliche at all. I'd call it a good common trait that's carried by many greats.
Ok, last question I like to ask in these interviews, what's something most people don't know about you?
Condit: Although I'm from New Jersey, I'm a big Houston Texans fan.
Wyman: Well, I think most would agree, you keep doing all the right things, we could possibly see you in a Texan uniform in the not so distant future...or playing against them.
Tyler, on behalf of Tyrant Scouting, I want say thanks again and we all wish you the best of luck in your future.
Condit: For sure.. Thank you.
